65-year-old Woman Stops An Attacker Who’s Twice Her Size
A 65-year old woman in Manchester, New Hampshire was saved by her pocket carry pistol from an attacker who was twice her size. The encounter took place one night just a few feet away from her home.
Unionleader.com reported:
“The woman, who is 4-foot-11 and 105 pounds, said she had stopped at Mobil on the Run, 1050 S. Willow St., at about 11:30 p.m., after leaving work. She told police she was on South Willow Street at a stoplight when she noticed a dark colored sedan behind her. She said it caused her heightened concern when it followed her into her apartment complex parking lot, so she parked as close to her building as possible.
She said the following vehicle parked close to hers and as she got out of her vehicle and headed for the building, she heard a car door close and a person walking quickly behind her.”
When she turned to check, she discovered a white male with a dark sweatshirt on who then ran after her and blocked her path. The woman grabbed her self-defense handgun from her pocket and fired it at the attacker, hitting him in the chest. According to the police, the woman has a concealed carry license.
The victim ran to her building to call for the police’s help. She narrated that after hitting the criminal, a woman from the car got out and helped him inside. The 23-year-old attacker, Robert Bontaites, was then brought to the hospital but was recognized and arrested by an officer after hearing the radio broadcast of his description.
This situation showed us again how being armed can help us protect our personal property and our own life. If this woman was not carrying a firearm, she might have been successfully attacked by the man who was bigger than her.
