Defensive Gun Use for Arkansas Teachers
Private School In Arkansas Has Made The Move To Defensive Gun Use Arming And Training Their Teachers
Pastor Perry Black was quoted saying:
“I just felt like with what’s going on in many of the public sectors where there seem to be a lot of shootings we need to take the same stance that we do in church on Sunday for our kids Monday through Friday”
Pastor Black has already taken the initiative to have armed protection during Sunday services. He included armed security at the school five days a week. At any given time, the Pastor said that there is always to be 1 to 7 trained and armed school personnel. They have started training at the beginning of 2015 and have completed that training with local law enforcement for defensive gun use and concealed carry permits.
Black posted a sign in front of the Arkansas Christian Academy in Bryant that read:“Staff is armed and trained. Any attempt to harm children will be met with deadly force.”
Recently, Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel blocked plans to arm teachers. He said:
“Simply put, the code, in my opinion, does not authorize either licensing a school district as a guard company or classifying it as a private business authorized to employ its own teachers as armed guards”“
This pastor believes otherwise and has taken the matter into his own hands.
These gun-free zones have been the target of mass shootings for the last decade. It’s about time for more schools to do the same. All schools across the country should adopt this policy. Many of us have kids that have been through the public school system in our local area and aside from the lower education standards within public schools, my only major contention has been this “lockdown” policy public schools have now implemented.
Lockdown policies are useless. It leaves children as sitting ducks with zero form of self-protection waiting for the police which is at least 20 minutes away. Prudent parents should choose to send their kids to private schools like this that have made the all too important move to actually protect children.
