Campus Carry In FL Could Take Effect July 1st, 2016
It’s a long and winding road for Florida in allowing campus carry, but it just made one step closer to it.
Senate’s Higher Education Committee of Florida voted 5-3 in favor of senate bill 68 which allows a person with proper concealed carry permit to carry guns on college campuses.
If all goes well, this bill will become law and will be implemented on July 1st, 2016.
A previous bill, 4005, identical to this was squash two times earlier in the House.
The bill, HB 4001, is summarized as follows:
Licenses to Carry Concealed Weapons or Firearms; Removes provision prohibiting concealed carry licensees from openly carrying a handgun or carrying concealed weapon or firearm into college or university facility.
