Concealed Carrier Saves Kids From Insane Carjacker

Plymouth, Pennsylvania – Rob Ragukus is “the best man” according to Mike Sharma, owner of Quick & EZ Stop, Plymouth after Ragukus held an alleged would-be carjacker at gunpoint until the police came.

“He saved all of us,” Sharma added.

The suspect was inside the store and described as “in a huff” and the owner asked him if he was alright. When a female customer Katherine DeLuca, left the store and got in her car, the suspect followed her. He told her to get out of her car. When she refused, the suspect starts yelling, “She’s trying to kill me,” and then flees.

While running across US Route 11, witnesses said that the suspect stopped a white Saturn and attempted to drag the driver out of the car, which had two children in the back seat. Sharma said that the suspect dragged the driver out of the car, but she got back in and wrestled control of the car.

At this point, Sharma said Ragukus, who had pulled in to purchase cigarettes, got out of the car, pulled a gun and said, “I have a license to carry this gun, don’t move.”       

The suspect now has two choices, heed Ragukus or refuse. Sharma and several others had already called 911 and the police arrived shortly afterward. The woman emerged from the car safely and the suspect was taken into custody.

The name of the suspect was not immediately available.

[The concealed carrier] said his thoughts were with his son, who is at Parris Island, South Carolina [for Marine Corps Basic Training], but that he “had to do what he had to do. It’s something everyone needs to do,” he said, “Stop up and take back their town.”
