Is the C.O.R.E. right for you? This will depend upon what you want and what you are looking for in a gun. There are mixed reviews about the C.O.R.E. and most of those reviews are based on personal preference and not necessarily on the actual performance of the C.O.R.E.
For some, having a platform on the slide that allows six fully functional accessory optics to be mounted is a great thing, and something they really like to practice with. For others, it’s more of a toy and not something that appeals to them. For those that are not all that impressed with the C.O.R.E., it is not about its performance, but rather it is about their preference for other types of guns.
Smith and Wesson is a very well-known and respected maker of guns. They are renowned for all of the different types of guns they’ve made throughout their very long history of gun making. For many gun enthusiasts, just the name Smith and Wesson is an almost guaranteed sell. While others may love Smith and Wesson’s guns, they still may be more particular in the type of guns and what they can do and not be so enthusiastic about the C.O.R.E.
For those interested in optics, then the Competition Optics Ready Equipment would likely be a good choice to check out and experiment with to see how well it fits in with their preferences. The C.O.R.E. has a lot of options that will appeal to many people and is just another new equipment to add to Smith and Wesson’s huge assortment of guns and accessories.
The C.O.R.E. was made ready on the market in November of 2012, right around the time that the big gun controversy started. This has had some impact on the gun, but there are still plenty of people who are interested in the product and want to see all that it has to offer.
