Woman Pulls Her Gun and Made The Robbers Run

When a woman heard her door pried open, she immediately ran and got her gun.

At the Smith’s home, near MLK & 56th North, a woman said that her gun was already loaded because of what’s already happened to her. The windows were barred where the thieves broke in and stole cash before.

After that, Smith strengthened her alarm system and her fiance added a ready gun.The woman said, “He was coming towards me. You know, like he was going to do something to me, harm me, and I was going to get him before he got me.” The bullets from the gun didn’t hit the burglars, but got them out of the woman’s house.

According to Carmen Smith, using and shooting the gun was her first time. The bullets from her gun shattered a picture of her family in her house as she went through the front door and made contact with the abandoned house from the side of the street.

The woman didn’t want to hurt anyone, “I’m not trying to kill nobody’s child. I don’t want that pain on me, you know?” “And I don’t want it on nobody else, but if they are coming after me, then I have to do what I have to do; and it’s just that simple,” she added.

Carmen also shows some desire to go to the gun range and practice her shooting. Sadly, instances like this wake you up to the intentions of predators that are so ruthless, they are almost animalistic. The woman realized that she was like a small obstacle in these robbers paths in order to get what they wanted, and for them, her life didn’t mean matter at that moment.

It’s possible that Carmen is hoping that she wouldn’t ever have to use the gun her fiance bought her after the first robbery. On the other hand, that gun most likely saved her. Lots of people can relate to this, they are not really interested in hunting or shooting, but they carry a gun just in case of an emergency.

Everyone could attend a class that teaches gun safety, and it would be great for anyone who owns a firearms permit to take it to the range and start practicing to become comfortable with shooting and aiming. Carmen is so lucky that there were  no innocent people when she fired the gun, and that the house she hit was abandoned. In classes, you learn to be aware and in control of every single bullet that comes out of your gun.
